I will keep this short and sweet, and is truly directed at no one in particular but a string of people and series of events have prompted this post. PLEASE LISTEN TO YOUR COACHES ADVICE. If we recommend you scale something, Scale it. If we recommend you change an exercise, Change it. If we show full range of motion for a rep to count, Do Good Reps. You are here and paying for coaching, so Please Be Coachable.
3 Rounds for Time:
400 m Run
15 Push Press 115/75
15 Pull Ups
I know this may be a sore subject but if you are continuing to not complete exercises as form dictates then do not expect to see Rx by your name. We as coaches know who has limitations to their range of movement or injuries. Those individuals are not my target audience. If you outwardly cheat the WOD do not expect to see Rx or even a time next to your name. The form issue falls mainly to your safety and development. The cheating issue deals with your character. I will release Jason and the other coaches from my statements but if I am coaching this will be the norm. If you get so tired you need someone to count your reps or rounds we can make that happen. I have received a significant amount of feedback from our family members to these issues and I will not turn a blind eye. We work on more than physical and mental development here. We also deal with honor, respect, accountability, and character. I can not stand by and see these virtues compromised nor create frustration for those that are adhering to our principals. If this seems harsh I am sorry but enough is enough. If you disagree or have issue come see me and we can talk. Sorry for length and tone.
Better stated than I would have done!!! I have been coming to this gym for 4 years. I am not the strongest, nor the fastest, and I still modify some WODs. It is not about the time on the board or the rounds you complete. It is about the character you build as you become healthier and stronger!!!
Well put Z!! I’m 100% behind you on this issue.
Just remember when you put up that amazing time….do it the right way. Then you know your making the gains we’re all working!!
