Here are the preliminary details on the nutrition challenge.
It is going to be 8 weeks long and will be broken up into 3 sections. We will be utilizing the book “It Starts with Food” by Melissa and Dallas Hartwig. The first 3 weeks will involve a few meetings to go over sections of the book and make sure everyone understand the rules of The Whole 30 Challenge and the reasons why, and possibly a group trip to the grocery store to help people learn how to shop and select good produce etc. This gives everyone a good chance to understand the whys behind the rules. Then we will have The Whole 30 challenge, and then we will use the last week to help people figure out what foods and food groups they want to try to reintroduce into their diets and how to be able to access what those foods do to their bodies.
What are your thoughts on the lay out of this plan? I am open to suggestions and input. I personally like this because it involves your accountability to read the book and add to your personal knowledge. We can look into ways to be able to make sure people are logging their food during the whole 30 portion of it.If you have done The Whole 30 before please post your thoughts and results to the comments section.
