Who we are?
CrossFit Forever Strong is a community focused on living well. We believe in hard work, intensity, competition, and motivation. We will provide you with a daily workout and certified trainers to assist you through them. We don’t believe in anyone going to workout in a gym and not knowing what to do. Too much time at the gym is wasted and too many goals aren’t achieved, not because of a lack of motivation, but lack of knowledge and assistance. We aim to correct this problem.
At CrossFit Forever Strong it is our goal to redefine fitness in a competitive and motivating environment.Utilizing the CrossFit technique and philosophy we will motivate, educate and inspire individuals, adults and children alike, to reduce obesity and regain their ability to live a healthier lifestyle.

Jason is originally from a small town in upstate New York. When he left NY he moved to Las Vegas and began personal training full time. Jason has lived in Arizona for 6 years now, and loves it. He has over 9 years of training experience, and holds 8 nationally recognized certifications in Personal Training, Diet and Nutrition, and Coaching. He was one of 21 trainers selected, out of a group of over 4000 trainers, to travel to Beijing and work in the USOC High Performance Training Center during the 2008 Olympic Games. He did choose to pass on this opportunity in order to open Competitive Fitness but still considers it quite an honor.
Jason worked for the New York State Department of Corrections in a men’s maximum security prison for 5 years. He understands the demands and stresses facing Law Enforcement Officers, Firefighters, Soldiers, and all service personnel. He knows all too well that having one of these jobs means that you are not guaranteed to come home at night. He is dedicated to seeing that you are well prepared for whatever you may face during your shift, in hopes that you can fulfill the promise to your family to return home safe every night.
Jason maintains an athletic lifestyle. Sports range from cycling, soccer and swimming during his youth, to triathlons and marathons in recent years. Athletic achievements include: 3rd Place finish Toughest Competitor Alive 2003 NYS Law Enforcement Olympics, multiple medals during 2002 NYS Dept of Corrections Olympics, and various triathlons, including the 2007 Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon.
Jason had the opportunity to work in the classic “big box” gym. He trained moms, dads, athletes, morbidly obese, elderly, some local “Biggest Losers”, and everyone in between. During his time in the “big box” gym he noticed some key things missing. The lack of member focus is why he decided to open his own gym. He realized that people often don’t make the most of their time at the gym. It is not a lack of motivation that causes people to not succeed, but the lack of knowledge and help. A personal goal is more easily achieved when done in a caring and supportive community. CrossFit Forever Strong is that community.

Bill is originally from Orange, California but relocated and has been living in the east valley since grade school. He grew up in a very athletic driven environment participating competitively in soccer, wrestling and golf through high school. Bill attended Scottsdale Community College on a golf scholarship for two years then ultimately found his way into the law enforcement profession where he has remained for over 18 years.
Prior to finding Crossfit, Bill began training in the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu discipline. He quickly fell in love with this sport and began competing in local and national events. In 2008, Bill finished in 2nd place at the U.S. Nationals in both the no-gi and gi division. In late 2008, Bill discovered Crossfit through a friend in law enforcement and quickly fell in love with the competitive nature and friendliness of cliental at Crossfit Forever Strong. A box he has remained with ever since. Bill obtained his level 1 Crossfit trainer certification in April of 2009 and a short time later achieved his Olympic lifting certification. Bill’s attraction and dedication to Crossfit stems from it’s ability to transform you into a physically fit person capable of achieving the previously unthinkable and the outstanding people you get to meet and share these achievements with.

Bruce is a late bloomer to the gym life. Raised in Southern Utah, he has always experienced an active life. After High School, Bruce joined the Coast Guard as a part of the air rescue crew on the HH65A helicopters out of Los Angeles. When the air crew didn’t fly, they were busy playing street hockey, volleyball, basketball, and lifting a weight here and there – made it easy to stay fit. Then the babies came along…Charlie Nicole and Ryan Olivia were born and Bruce became Mister Mom for many years – and he was good at it!
In 2006 Bruce got a one-two punch to the reality gut when a picture of him from an Easter celebration revealed a round face and a body that packed 20 lbs more than his Coast Guard days. A few days later he and his wife, Tonya, saw Daniel Craig in Casino Royale at the theater. Seeing an actor age 40 in that remarkable of shape inspired the start of his transformation. After joining a traditional gym, Bruce was lucky enough to have a friend, Jen Guzman, turn him on to Crossfit. The changes in his physique and fitness that had eluded him in the traditional gym (even with a trainer) were happening quickly at Crossfit and he was hooked!
Bruce is an avid believer in the Grok nutrition lifestyle (Primal diet by Mark Sisson) and is becoming known for his “Bruce Bars” – a great paleo snack. He is currently EMT certified and working on securing a position with a fire department.

Born and raised in Boise, ID, Mike grew up playing golf as his only sport. Throughout High school and his time at Arizona State, Mike battled weight issues and fought in vein to lose weight using “Convential Wisdom” methods such as long cardio sessions and “healthy” diets. He loved being outdoors and being active, but just couldn’t figure out how to take his health to the next level.
Mike and his wife Danielle were introduced to CrossFit while in Costa Mesa, CA in 2010. Since then, he has found a renewed sense of self confidence he’d never experienced before since joining CrossFit Foreverstrong in December of last year. After training for 9 months, Mike decided he wanted to learn as much as he could about CrossFit and use that knowledge to show others how to reach deep and find strength they’ve never found before. He is a true believer that everybody is capable of anything they want, and wants to help others get to new heights with their own health and fitness.
Mike is CrossFit Level 1 Certified, and thinks music in the gym should be loud and heavy on the bass. He is an avid Boise State football fan and shares his home with his beautiful wife Danielle and their Labradoodle, Patty Mayonnaise.

Crossfit found me in 2010. I was 39 years old and faced with the mental and physical ambush of a guy about to turn 40! The years of typical gym workouts and even a couple of Phoenix Marathons hadn’t cut it! My college football physique was thanking me for being active but wondering where all the muscle definition and motivation had gone.
During a work trip, a work colleague showed me a You Tube video of Fran! My response was, “I could never do that.” I couldn’t do 5 pull-ups much less 45! But I couldn’t get the video out of my mind. At my colleague’s encouragement, I realized that the guys in the video had to start somewhere! So I found Crossfit Forever Strong. Met Jason, then joined the Box. And haven’t looked back! Three years into it and at 42, I’m in the best shape of my life.
Crossfit keeps me interested, challenged, and motivated. It goes beyond workouts and is a way of life and a community that shares and supports my goals for lifelong fitness. I love the competition, the people and the transformation that Crossfit has made on my body and mind. In 2012, I earned my Level 1 Trainer Certification to help inspire others in their fitness goals.
When I’m not at Forever Strong, I’m busy raising three beautiful girls, and working as a Nutritional Consultant for Orthomolecular Nutraceuticals. The lifestyle that Crossfit promotes, and the body and mind that it builds, helps me ‘walk my talk’ in my profession every day! At the Box and at work, I get to help people implement lifestyle medicine and natural solutions to live their best life possible.
Crossfit has become like therapy for me! It is truly part of who I am not what I do.

Danielle is originally from Lewiston, Idaho. She has always taken the opportunity to love and embrace life to its fullest and a great contributor to her recent journey has been her introduction to Crossfit. Growing up, you could always find Danielle either on the court or out on the field with the amount of sports she participated in. She grew up in a large family, both literally and figuratively speaking, and it was always her determination to not only be able to play the part of the athlete, but to look the part as well.
Though her battles with weight fluctuated, her love of sports was ever-present. She took that affliction straight into a career after college and grad school and eventually made her way down to Phoenix with her husband, Mike, where she ended up working in professional sports. Even though she felt like she was in on the sports action, it was her waistband that proved otherwise. With the long hours that the sports industry demanded, her health and fitness were on the back burner until her closest friends introduced her to Crossfit in 2010. After exploring the Crossfit options in the valley, she and her husband knew that their home was Crossfit Forever Strong and they have been loyal members since Dec. 2010.
Thanks to the CFFS community and her dedication to health, she lost 50 pounds since beginning her Crossfit journey. She attributes that accomplishment to the Paleo lifestyle, her coaches, Jason and Sally, her husband, and her reintroduction into the world where she can consider herself an athlete once again. She has taken that new-found lease on life to helping others not only in the gym but into the nonprofit world. Danielle will forever drink the Crossfit Koolaid every day and with every step and burpee she takes.
Melissa has been active her whole life. Being involved in track, softball, gymnastics, cheer, marathon running, road biking, and Olympic weightlifting have all added to her love for CrossFit. She found the sport of CrossFit in 2011, when she watched an event in the CrossFit Games. It was the perfect mix of fitness and competition that she missed!
She started doing her own version of CrossFit WODs at her regular gym. (That didn’t workout so well!) She had an “ah-ha” moment one day, while looking over at the 2 rows of treadmills filled with women. They were out of shape and wasting time, walking or jogging their lives away, while she was the only woman over in the weights section, doing pull-ups and deadlifts. While most women are afraid of “bulking up” if they lift heavy, that “ah-ha” moment showed Melissa that CrossFit makes women healthy. She loves how CrossFit focuses on goals and improvements in the gym, and not the numbers on the scale. The numbers on the scale come on their own!
Melissa is so grateful for the opportunity she had in November 2012 to become a Level 1 Certified Trainer and become a coach at Forever Strong. CrossFit Forever Strong has become a family to her, and a way of life. The camaraderie of the gym is unmatched!!
CrossFit has enhanced Melissa’s life in so many ways. She had a 2 year old daughter, and CrossFit makes it so much easier being a mom! It helps her mentally as well as physically.
