Memorial WOD and Fundraiser

CrossFit Uprising has set up a Memorial WOD and a Fundraiser for the family of Phoenix Firefighter Bradley Harper. It will be June 1st. Please go to the following link http://www.crossfituprising.com/bradley-harper-memorial-wod.html  and either donate to the cause or let’s take a group of people out there and represent Forever Strong and the Firefighters we have in house here. The early time slot is almost full so if we are going to go let’s choose the 10-12 time slot and all be there at the same time. The following is from their website about the event: “CrossFit is known for the closeness it creates through each community. Early Sunday morning on May 19, 2013 we lost a member of our community much too soon. 23-year-old Phoenix Firefighter and CFU member Bradley Harper had just finished fighting a mulch fire in south Phoenix Saturday night, when a fire truck and ambulance tried to pass each other on a narrow road. Harper, who was taking off his gear at the time, found himself pinned between the two vehicles. He later died at St. Joseph’s hospital. We have created a special WOD that we are hosting at the gym Saturday June 1, 2013 to honor his memory. We are expecting a big turnout and are going to set two different arrival times,  Please sign up below and use the Buy Now link to donate online. We will also be hosting a BBQ. Registration is $25 and includes a Memorial Brad Harper t-shirt made by Designed in Ink. If you would like to make an additional donation please use the Donate link or cash/check...

Lots of Important Info. Please Read!!!

This weekend Phoenix Fire Department lost a member of their family. We have several member of our family that are a part of Phoenix Fire and many other Fire Departments that share in their loss. That fire fighter was Bradley Harper and he was also a member of a local CrossFit gym CrossFit Uprising. They have already started to put together a competition / fundraiser. I will get the details out as soon as I know more. Phoenix PD also lost a member of their family in a Hit and Run accident. Officer Darryl Raetz was also killed in the line of duty. Please take a minute and say a prayer for these families and for the members of our Forever Strong Family that are deeply feeling these losses and for whom these tragedies hit very close to home. Hug your kids tighter tonight, tell your family that you love them and please remember to thank every service member you see for their service. I’m sure you have noticed the new board in the hallway. The section for member news is about to get loaded up with stuff. Saturday June 1st we will be holding a stretching clinic. It will be taught by Kevin Kukla of Flexability RX and will be from 1-3. The cost is $60 for the 2 hours of instruction which will include personal assessments and stretching techniques designed to help you in life and your workouts. The class is limited to 12 people only. If we fill it up we will open more dates. We have window clings available. I’ll attach some to the board....
